Almost Athletes was formed
in 1988 in response to the
need for a slightly less
serious running club in the
Cheltenham area. They pride
themselves on providing for
all abilities and ages in "Almosts".
Their aim is to provide a
friendly, supportive
atmosphere for those who
just want to enjoy running.
And their social side isn’t
bad either! Membership
is over currently 200. |

Angels Running club
Friendly informal running
club aimed at women. They
have members of all
abilities some just starting
and others running
marathons. They meet on
Wednesday evenings at 6.00pm
at 'Oxstalls Tennis Centre',

Cheltenham Harriers

Cheltenham Harriers have the
first and only synthetic
track in the County.
Originally it was a Harriers
Club for men and included a
cycling section. Ladies
joined for a short while and
then developed a separate
Club. In 1992, the
Ladies’and Men’s Clubs
amalgamated to form the
Cheltenham and County
Harriers.

Cirencester

Cirencester is a small
market town in the Cotswolds
with many amenities and
pleasant countryside, ideal
for running. Many of their
routes are off-road and
through parkland and go on
for miles. The
Athletics Club meet
regularly at the Cotswold
Leisure Centre.

Dursley & District AC

Annually, the club promotes
the 'Dursley Dozen
Multi-Terrain Race' in
February and the 'Berkeley
10K' road race in May and in
addition hosts a
Cross-Country race on behalf
of the Gloucestershire AAA,
usually in October.

Forest of Dean AC

The Forest of Dean Athletic
Club was founded in 1982.
From small beginnings the
club has grown and now has
more than 200 members of all
ages. The club competes in
Road Running, Cross-Country,
Track and Field,
Multi-terrain, Trail
Running, Fell Running and
Sports Hall Athletics.

Gloucester Athletic Club
provides training, coaching
and competition in all forms
of athletics (track & field,
cross-country and road
running) for anyone aged 11
upwards, at all levels from
beginner to international
standard, within a
supportive and friendly
environment.
They welcome people of all
abilities, whether you just
fancy ‘having a go’, want to
compete at local level, have
aspirations to compete in
major championships, or
would like to get involved
in coaching or officiating.Organisers
of the Gloucester 20,
Gloucester 10 and other
local road races.

Severn AC

Severn Athletic Club was
formed in 1994 to provide
local athletes with an
alternative to the
Gloucester Athletic Club.
Soon after their formation,
Severn joined the Midland
Track & Field and Birmingham
Cross-Country Leagues and by
2001 had risen to the top
divisions in both - a
remarkable achievement given
the Club's small, yet
enthusiastic, membership.
Severn host a number of
short races particularly
over the summer season at
the White Horse (formerly
the Globe Inn) at Sandhurst
and the Pilot Inn at
Hardwicke.

Tetbury Royals

The Tetbury Royals were
founded in 1981 when a small
group of men attending a
Keep Fit Club decided to
have a go at running. In the
pub, one night, they decided
they should have a name and
eventually agreed to call
themselves the 'Tetbury
Royals', as at the time the
Prince and Princess of Wales
were about to move to
Tetbury.

Tewkesbury AC

Tewkesbury AC is a friendly
running club that welcomes
runners of all standards.
The club meets for training
runs between 5 and 9 miles
long at 7pm every Wednesday.
They meet from 6.45pm at
Tewkesbury Rugby Club, which
is at the end of
Gander Lane
behind Tewkesbury Abbey.
