The Frampton 10K on 14th July, the Standish Woodland Chase on 17th August, the Woodchester Park Multi Terrain Race on 14th  September and of course the mostly anticipated Stroud 1/2Marathon on 26th October.

Tom Purnell, of Wycliffe School and Stroud AC, Travelled to Perth, Scotland, on Friday to compete for England in the British Schools international. The competitors consisted of the best eight athletes from England, Scotland, Ireland and Wales in the School year 8/9 age group. Tom performed admirably to finish 12th and help England to win the team title.
Tom will now be spending a week in Portugal warm weather training with his training group, before starting his track season.

23-Mar-08 UK Inter county Championships

Tom Curr came back from the disappointment of failing to qualify for the English Schools team, at the previous weekends English schools championships, by running away from the pre race favourite to win the U15 boys UK Inter county Championships at Nottingham on Saturday. "It was a great performance by Tom and comfirmed my belief that he is by far the best cross country runner, of his age, in the country", Said his coach Chris Frapwell. Tom will now take a well earned break before travelling to Portugal for some warm weather training with his training group. In the same race Tom Purnell 18th, Jordan Frapwell 109th, Oliver Starkey 224th, and James Gardner 230th all ran well.

Other Stroud results: U20 men: Carl Frapwell 108th, U13 boys: Harrison Coldray 17th, Xander Brown 123rd, Tom Parnell 225th, Keelan Tootell 256th, Senior women: Louise Durman 136th, U15 girls: Thea Marshall 211th, U13 girls: Imogen Briscoe 152nd

16 Mar-08 English schools cross country championships

Tom Purnell timed his season to perfection with his best run of the year to finish 2nd in the English schools cross country championships at Sefton Park, Liverpool on Saturday March 8th. This performance gained him selection to run for England at the British schools international in Scotland on Friday 28th March.

Other results: Senior Boys: Carl Frapwell 161st, Inter Boys: Tom Curr 15th, Jordan Frapwell 205th, Junior Boys: Harri Coldray 93rd, Junior Girls: Imogen Briscoe 86th. All these athletes qualified for these championships by being ranked in the top eight in the county in there respective age groups.

24-Feb-08 Bourton 10K

Dan Robinson continues to prove he is well on his way to a good London Marathon in 7 weeks time with a 29:21min 10k, breaking his previous  course record at Bourton-on-the-water this weekend.  Many other Stroud runners also had PBs.  For full results click here

10-Feb-08 Rachel Felton 12th in Europe X-Country

After a nightmare journey to Belgium, Stroud Athlete, Rachel Felton managed to put in a solid performance to finish 12th in an international field while representing England at the Dour Euro Cross country meeting on Sunday 10th February.

27-Jan-08 Midland X-County Championship

Another successfull day was had by Stroud Athletes at Saturdays Midland cross country championships in Leamington. The U15 boys won the team title with great preformances from Tom Curr 2nd,after a heavy fall that cost him the individual title, Tom Purnell 4th, Jordan Frapwell 26th, and Aaron Phelps closing the winning team in 33rd, he was closely folowed by James Gardner 39th and Oliver Starkey 68th. ..... more details
